Dr Wafaa El-Sadr MD, MPH, MPA .

Founder and Director of ICAP at Columbia University. Director – Center for Infectious Disease Epidemiologic Research ‘CIDER’ at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and Professor at Columbia University.

Dr. El-Sadr joined the faculty of Columbia’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1988 and become a professor of epidemiology and medicine at the Mailman School of Public Health, of which she is an alumna.

In 2013, she was appointed University Professor, Columbia’s highest academic honor.

She also holds the Dr. Mathilde Krim-amfAR Chair in Global Health, and is the director of the Global Health Initiative at the Mailman School.

Largest Metal Buried Bridge Span – The Shamal Bridge, Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) : March 2017

The Shamal Bridge is the largest metal buried bridge span and was achieved by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, United Arab Emirates .

The bridge span measures 32.39 m (106.3ft) has a capacity of 2,000 vehicles per hour. The record is certified by Guinness World Records.

The project was undertaken by ViaCon Sp. zoo (Poland) as a part of the Ras Al Khaimah ring road – The Shamal Bridge

World’s Longest Straight Road – 240 Km – Highway 10 : Saudi Arabia

Highway 10 is the longest dead straight road on earth, covering 140 miles (240Km) in one stretch according to Guinness.

It links Haradh (Highway 75) to Al Batha and is a total desert land.

Bonus Record:

Highway 85 – Saudi Arabia . Not a straight road. From Jubail on the coast to Turaif on the border of Jordan. The Highway is 693 miles long and takes about 9 hours to drive in one go.

World’s Longest Sea-Swim Duration – Nejib Belhedi – Tunisia 2018

Nejib Belhedi’s registration in Guinness Book of Records is the first in Tunisian sports history.

-First Marathon Swimmer in Tunisia and first who swam Kerkennah – June 1991

-English Channel (England to France) on September 15–16, 1993 in 16 hours 35 minutes. First and only Tunisian who accomplished the English Channel, the Channel Swimming Association created a trophy in the name of Belhedi : Belhedi Trophy for the Channel Swim

-Nejib Belhedi accomplished 1400 km along the total coast of Tunisia during 2011-2012 all seasons

-Title of the World Performance of the year 2011 for his marathon 1400 K Swim Across Tunisia, honored on RMS Queen Mary, California, Los Angeles on 22 Sept 2012.

-Title of the World of Man of the Year 2016 for his Iron Swim and Ouma for kids realizations, honored on Bizerta Resort Bierta Tunisia by WOWSA on 12 September 2017

13,377 camels participated in the largest camel racing tournament in the world. Certificate issued by Guinness World Records.

The event was organised by the Saudi Camel Racing Federation and was held on September 13th, 2019 at Taif, Saudi Arabia.

Highest Sword Throw – Hazza Sulaiman Al Shehhi – Fujairah (UAE) : November 2010

Hazza Sulaiman Al Shehhi – successfully executed the highest sword throw reaching 21.275m (69ft.9″).

It was achieved as a part of the Fujairah Crown Prince Award and Al Saif Traditional Sword competition, held at Fujairah Fort, Fujairah, United Arab Emirates on November 26th, 2010.

Hazza has a specially developed technique for throwing the sword.

The attempt was measured using videography and high precision laser measuring meter called Leica Disto D8. The event was certified by Guinness World Records.
