Hicham El Guerroj – World’s Fastest Run 1,500m : Morocco July 1998

Hicham El Guerrouj won the 1,500 metres event at IAAF Golden League Golden Gala in Rome, Italy, in a time of 3 minutes 26 seconds on 14 July 1998.

He beat the existing record by more than a second.

El Guerrouj also retained 4 other world record times:

over one mile (indoors and outdoors) 2,000 metres (outdoors) and 1,500 metres (indoors) as on 2017

World’s 4th Longest Bridge : Sheikh Jaber Causeway, Kuwait : May 2019

The Shieikh Jaber Causeway is the 4th longest bridge in the world.

Named after Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah who ruled during the Gulf war.

About 80 percent of the sea-bridge is over water and connects Kuwait City to Subiya where a USD 100 billion dollar mega-city is being built.

The drive around the bay usually takes over an hour, but with bridge’s construction completed, it shortens to less than 20 minutes.

The USD 2.6 billion causeway was designed by Paris based engineering and consulting group ‘Systra’. Lead by a consortium of South Korea’s ‘Hyundai Engineering & Construciton Co.’ and Kuwait’s ‘Combined Group Contracting Company’.

Shamal Steel Arch Bridge , Ras Al Khaimah, UAE is now the World’s longest steel bridge , certified by Guinness World Records.

It is planned to handle 2,000 vehicles per hour and includes a life expectancy of 104 years without any maintenance.

The bridge is a part of the second phase of Emirates Road as envisaged by the Ministry of Infrastructure, UAE

The former record was held by Poland’s 26m long bridge

Saudi Arabia ranks fourth globally in the use of 5G technology and 10th in internet speed.

Findings were presented by Deputy Minister for Technology, Industry & Digital Capacity, Ministry of Communicaion and Information, Dr. Ahmed Al-Theneyan – at the webinar ‘Digital Lanterns’ event launched by Makkah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The Kingdom jumped from 150th to 10th place globally in terms of internet speed.

The unveiling of the new shimmering new facade was at a special cermony held by the Royal Commission of AlUla, at the 2nd season of the ‘Winter at Tantora Festival’ .

External cladding facade displays 9,740 square metres of mirror designed as a cuboid. Guinness World Record title was on December 26th, 2019.
